Strathclyde Partnership for Transport is the largest of Scotland’s seven Regional Transport Partnerships. We run the Glasgow Subway, a host of specialist bus services and are responsible for delivering better public transport for all.
SPT is seeking to recruit a Communications Officer to develop and implement a creative and innovative media and public affairs strategy.
You will be educated to degree level or equivalent and will be a confident, experienced communications professional with good journalistic skills and ability to communicate effectively across a wide spectrum. As a more senior member of the team, you will be required to lead on relevant communications activities, supporting and contributing to the development of SPT’s social media strategy. You will need excellent organisational skills for ensuring deadlines and objectives are met. Significant initiative and a proactive approach are also required.
You will be expected to keep up to date with developments in best practice. You will also need a good understanding of internal communications, public affairs and the wider marketing mix.
An interest in local government and an understanding of the pressures faced by local authorities is important.
