SPT's 5th Annual Travel Planning Seminar
January 21, 2010 11:00 UKNewsWe are holding our fifth Travel Planning Seminar on 18 February 2010 at the Teacher Building, St Enoch Square, Glasgow.
The theme of this year's Seminar is Creating Change. It will address ways in which organisations can use Travel Plans to help staff save money on their travel costs, cut their carbon footprint and improve their work/life balance.
The seminar will provide delegates with practical advice and information, as well as innovative ideas to help promote, develop and implement Travel Plan measures in such a way that will motivate staff and encourage participation.
Clare Strain, SPT Travel Plan Officer, said: "In the feedback from last year's seminar many delegates told us their favourite part was hearing what other organisations are doing to promote travel planning.
"We've taken this on board, and have incorporated some case studies for 2010 to help all participants share their expertise and inspire each other."
Feedback from last year also showed that 92% of attendees found the conference to be useful or very useful; 88% found the workshops to be useful or very useful; and 100% said they would attend a future similar event.
This year's speakers include Stuart McNeill of Traveline Scotland, Paul Akehurst of Enviros Consulting Ltd, Dr William Dove of NHS Fife and Steve Beverley of Capital Shopping Centres.
The seminar is free of charge and is aimed at individuals involved in travel planning, marketing and transport from both the public and private sector. This includes representatives of local authorities, businesses, retail parks, shopping centres, universities, colleges and Health Boards.
