SPT steps in to provide village bus link
Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) is stepping in to ensure that the village of Crawfordjohn is not left without a bus service.
Following the withdrawal of a number of Royal Mail Post Bus services in the South Lanarkshire Council area, SPT is extending its Service 900 ‘Three Valleys’ Ring ‘n’ Ride service to provide journeys on request between Crawfordjohn and Lanark from the end of September.
South Lanarkshire Councillor and SPT Vice-Chair Davie McLachlan said: “The withdrawal of these services means that Crawfordjohn would be left without a bus service if it wasn’t for SPT.
“I’m delighted that we can step in to provide a service here and we remain committed to working with our bus industry and local authority partners to come up with solutions which help provide Strathclyde with a first-class bus system.”
The Service 900 Ring ‘n’ Ride operates Monday to Saturday between the hours of 0700 - 2330 and Sundays 0900 - 2330.
