Go-ahead for bus service extension
SPT is extending the route of a bus service in the East End of Glasgow which it subsidises.
The extension means East End residents will soon have improved bus access to a local supermarket and health centre.
From 23 November, service 310 (Glasgow Fort – Shettleston) will be extended to link Sandyhills (Sandyhills Rd, Strowan St, Sandyhills High Flats, Ardgay St and Killin St) with Shettleston Health Centre and the Tesco supermarket.
SPT subsidises dozens of local bus services such as these, which are deemed to be socially necessary but which are not provided by private operators.
