Getting to Riverside by public transport
Travelling by Subway
One of the quickest ways to travel to the new Riverside Museum and The Tall Ship from around Glasgow is by Subway. It’s only a short 7-minute walk from Partick Subway station - or if you prefer a slightly longer stretch of your legs, Kelvinhall station. Just follow the signs to the Riverside Museum.
If you're coming into Glasgow by car, why not park at one of SPT's Park and Ride Subway stations, then continue your journey to Partick or Kelvinhall stations by Subway.
Park and Ride is available at the following stations:
- Bridge Street
- Kelvinbridge
- Shields Road.

Travelling by Bus
The most frequent bus service to the Riverside Museum is First Glasgow’s new Riversider (service 100) departing from the north side of George Square near the City Chambers in the city centre every 30 minutes throughout the day.
It stops at a number of Glasgow attractions along its route, including Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, the Riverside Museum and the Tall Ship, and the SECC.
The bus stop for the Riversider is in Beith Street, near Partick station - follow the signposts.
The Riversider operates:
- 09:25 to 17:15 Monday to Thursday and Saturday, and
- 10:45 to 17:15 Fridays and Sundays.

Travelling by Train
The nearest rail station for main line trains is Partick Station. From there, it is a 7-minute walk to the Riverside Museum, or you can catch the Service 100 Riversider bus from the bus stop in nearby Beith Street.
Travelling by Ferry
Make more of your visit by taking the cross-Clyde ferry link between Govan and the Riverside Museum.
Take the Subway to Govan station, then walk to Govan’s historic Water Row and take the Ferry for the short trip across the Clyde.
The ferry operates:
- from 09:55 Monday to Thursday and Saturday, and
- from 10:55 Fridays and Sundays.
The ferry will run at least every 20 minutes, with the last departure from Riverside Museum at 17:05 each evening.
